Every year when Dancing on Ice hits our screens, the rumour mill cranks into high gear about who is hooking up off the ice. It’s not surprising that romances happen given the intense hours the pros and celebrities spend together in training and rehearsals. My Dancing on Ice inspired novel, Strictly on Ice, aims to capture some of the drama of the show with a thrilling romance about sporting stars and second chances!

Let’s take a look back at some of the rumoured and real romances started by the show:

Samia Ghadie and Sylvain Longchambon

One of the show’s most successful pairings, Samia and Sylvain are now married and have a child together, after skating together on the show in 2013. But it wasn’t the first DOI romance for Sylvain… Before meeting Samia he dated Hollyoaks actress Jennifer Metcalfe, whom he skated with in 2011.

Vanessa Bauer and Wes Anderson

There was a lot of gossip about Vanessa and Wes’s relationship, especially when he had a very public break-up with his then-girlfriend Megan Barton Hanson. They never confirmed if they were an item but the rumour-mill was in full gear that year!

Brianne Delcourt and Kevin Kilbane

Pro-skater Brianne has been linked with a number of men on the show, including Corrie actor Danny Young, Eastenders star Sam Attwater, and another Eastenders actor, Matt Lapinskas. Brianne is now happily married and is expecting her third baby with ex-footie star Kevin Kilbane, whom she also met on the show!

Frankie Poultney and David Seaman

David was on the show in 2006 but he actually met his now-wife Frankie in 2008 when they were on the DOI tour. They were married in 2015.

Sam Attwater and Vicky Ogden

Sam and Vicky were paired together in 2014 for Dancing on Ice All Stars. Sam and Vicky were the first DOI pair to get married, in 2014, and now have a daughter together.
